You Know Who Else, Etc. of the Day: The Redditch Borough Council is presently mulling over a plan to use heat generated by the local crematorium in order to warm up the swimming pool at the Abbey Stadium Sports Centre, thus saving £14,500-a-year on heating bills. Not surprisingly, some people have a problem with this.
“I don’t know how comfortable people would feel about the swimming pool being heated due to the death of a loved one,” Simon Thomas, of Thomas Brothers Funeral Directors, is quoted as saying. “I’m not comfortable with it at all and I think trying to save money due to the death of someone’s family member or friend is a bit sick.”
A public meeting on the matter will be held this Thursday.

I have absolutely no problem with this. Shouldn’t we encourage the circle of life? Did the Lion King teach you nothing? Also the only reason why people have a problem with this is because they know about it. If they didn’t, they would say GREAT! A chance to save money and energy!

Maybe It’s just my abnormal perception...death but THEY’RE GOING TO CREMATE THOSE PEOPLE...
The idea is slightly morbid, but overall a good one. Death is a part of life, we’ve gotta accept that. And like Kara...
